Module 8: Data for Personalisation
Additional notes
In this example, we’re intentionally keeping the segment rules fairly broad. By triggering off link clicks that contain a scent type (like “fruity” or “woody”), preferences can update based on a customer’s most recent behaviour, not just a one-time choice.
That means this data will populate faster, and the content you send can stay aligned with what someone is actively interested in right now.
As your business grows, you might decide to tighten this logic up. For example by limiting it to certain emails, timeframes, or capturing preferences more explicitly. For now, this setup strikes a good balance between simplicity and usefulness, especially when you’re just getting started with personalisation.
